Affiliate disclosure
WasItOnSale.ca earns money from some links on this site. If you click a link to a retailer, bank or service and then buy something or open an account, we may receive a commission or referral fee. You don't pay more because of it.
Our relationships
- We may take part in affiliate programs including the Amazon.ca Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- We may be paid through affiliate networks such as Impact, CJ, Awin and Rakuten Advertising (for example by Best Buy Canada, Instacart, Kraken or card issuers), and through referral programs such as Wealthsimple's.
- The site shows display advertising (for example Google AdSense). Ads are labelled and kept separate from our deal judgments.
What doesn't change
- Our “Is this sale real?” label comes only from recorded prices. Being paid never changes the label or the order of deals.
- We also list deals that don't pay us anything.
- Paid or sponsored placements are always labelled “Sponsored”.
How we mark paid links
Links that can earn us money say “affiliate link” next to them, and every page carries a disclosure line at the top. We follow the Competition Bureau of Canada's guidance that a material connection must be clear, prominent and close to the claim.
